Small garden of a hotel in Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto.
We have renewed the garden in 2022.

 

We planted Japanese sumac (Rhus javanica) along with two granite stones with a little bit of rust.

Japanese sumac is slow growing, so it does not require much maintenance.

In addition, its branches are cool and beautiful.

The landscape stones were broken back and reconstructed.

Although it is a small space, the garden now has a very strong presence.

We used old kazura stones, hand-carved "MAGASIIN", the name of the shop, and inlaid moss.
