Today I visited the Kyoto State Guest House, which I have wanted to see for a long time.

Reservations are required and the entrance fee is 2,000 yen.

Since it is close to my house, I cycled there in the snowy weather.

After passing through a security check, I entered the main entrance.

This stone is Tokuyama Mikage from Kurogami Island, Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.

The area where vehicles pass through is finished only, and it was done by hand.

The joints were deepened, and the top was covered with sand or gravel.

It is a very informative water scene, with ample use of margins.

The garden seen through the yukimi shoji screens is admired for its well-calculated composition. The stone column on the left is a stone structure from the Gojo Ohashi Bridge.

Not only the garden, but also the architecture, plastering, cutting metal, textiles, and other traditional Kyoto crafts are all here, and there is much to see and do.

It was a fulfilling 90 minutes.
